Frequently Asked Questions

Spiral binding is characterized through the way the pages are bound together: a spiral in either metal or plastic holds your pages together. This binding is also equipped with a transparent front cover and a coloured back cover.

When producing a spiral binding, the first step ist to pierce all pages that need to be bound with the binding. The different spiral binding options (metal or plastic) need differrent punching holes. In the second step, the punched pages are faced with front and back cover. In the third and last step, the spiral is inserted in the stamped holes and the binding will be pressed shut.

Spiral binding is best used for rather short academic papers as this binding appears quite simple. For more important papers, we recommend other bindings.

We recommend spiral binding for the following types of work:

Spiral binding itself costs £4,90 and is therefore the most affordable option. The total price depends on how many pages your paper has and whether you want extras to your spiral binding.

With spiral binding, the size of the spiral is adjusted according to the number of pages. The spiral diameters range varies from 6 mm to 22 mm. It is also important for the determination of a page count to know the paper weight. You can fit more sheets of 100 g/m² paper into spiral binding than you can 120 g/m² paper.

A spiral binding can hold about 300 pages. If your document consists of more pages, we recommend double sided printing. That way, up to 600 printed pages, or 300 pages, fit into the wire binding.
